The Quick Consult ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect through our website and related services (the "Platform"), why we collect it, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights available to you. It applies to clients, consultants, business partners, job applicants, and visitors to the Platform.
We process personal information in accordance with the Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019 of Uganda. By using the Platform, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Policy. This Policy should be read alongside our Terms & Conditions.
Account information. When you register, we collect your full name, email address, phone number, and a password, which is stored in encrypted (hashed) form and never in plain text. Your email address is verified using a one-time code at registration and whenever you change it.
Consultant profile information. If you register as a consultant, we additionally collect your professional headline, category, years of experience, areas of expertise, a short biography, your session rate, your profile photo, and any identity or qualification documents you upload for verification.
Business and job listing information. If you list a business in the Trusted Partners directory, we collect the business name, category, description, logo, contact details, and address. If you publish a job listing on the Careers board, we collect the role details, company information, and the application contact you provide.
Booking and payment information. We collect details of each session you book or deliver, including date, duration, mode (audio or video), rate, and total cost. Payments are processed by our payment partner, PesaPal; we receive and store a transaction reference and status, but we do not receive or store your card number, mobile money PIN, or other payment credentials.
Call recordings. If a client pays to record a session, the audio of that session is captured and stored. We do not record sessions that were not purchased with the recording add-on, and we do not transcribe or analyze recordings beyond making them available for playback to the people who took part.
Reviews and communications. We collect ratings and written reviews you submit, booking notes shared between a client and consultant, dispute reports, and any messages you send to our support address.
Technical and usage information. Like most websites, we automatically collect your IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, and approximate location (derived from IP address), typically through server logs and cookies.
We use personal information to: create and manage your account; operate bookings and process payments; verify consultant identity and credentials; display public profiles, listings, and job postings; facilitate audio and video sessions; send transactional emails such as booking confirmations, verification codes, and receipts; respond to support requests and disputes; detect and prevent fraud and abuse; maintain the security of the Platform; and comply with our legal obligations.
We also use aggregated or de-identified information to understand how the Platform is used and to improve it, for example to see which categories of consultant are most booked, without identifying any individual user in that analysis.
We process your information because it is necessary to perform our contract with you (for example, to deliver a session you booked), because you have given your consent (for example, when you opt in to pay for a recorded session), because it is necessary to comply with a legal obligation, or because it serves our legitimate interest in operating, securing, and improving the Platform, in a way that does not override your own rights and freedoms.
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to protect public forms from automated abuse through Google reCAPTCHA. Our footer also loads a Trustindex widget that displays independently collected reviews and may set its own cookies under its own privacy practices. We do not currently use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling essential cookies will prevent you from signing in.
Audio and video sessions are connected directly between the client and consultant's browsers over an encrypted connection; we do not route or store the live audio or video stream of a session unless it was purchased with the paid recording add-on. Text chat sent during a call is delivered directly between participants and is not stored on our servers after the call ends.
Where a session recording exists because it was purchased, it is accessible to the client and consultant who took part in that specific session, and to Platform administrators where reasonably necessary to investigate a complaint, dispute, or suspected violation of our Terms. We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to restrict access to recordings to these purposes only.
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the following circumstances: with our payment partner, PesaPal, to process a payment; with Google, for reCAPTCHA bot protection on public forms, and for indexing of public pages such as consultant profiles, blog posts, and job listings in search results; with our email and hosting providers, to deliver transactional email and operate the Platform; between a client and consultant, limited to what is necessary to complete a booked session (such as name and session details); publicly, where you choose to publish information such as a consultant profile, business listing, job posting, or review; and with regulators, law enforcement, or other third parties where required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of The Quick Consult, our users, or the public.
We retain account information for as long as your account remains active, and for a reasonable period afterward to meet our legal, accounting, and dispute-resolution obligations. Booking and payment records are retained in line with applicable financial record-keeping requirements. Call recordings are retained for as long as reasonably necessary to serve their purpose of giving the paying client a record of their session and to support dispute resolution, after which they may be deleted; you may request earlier deletion of a recording you have rights over by contacting us, subject to Section 9 of our Terms.
We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted password storage, encrypted connections (HTTPS) between your browser and our servers, and access controls that limit who within our team can view sensitive information such as verification documents or recordings. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your information and to respond promptly to any suspected incident.
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to: access the personal information we hold about you; correct inaccurate information, most of which you can update directly from your dashboard; change the email address on your account, which requires verification of the new address by a one-time code; request deletion of your account and associated personal information, subject to information we are required to retain by law; and object to or request that we restrict certain processing of your information. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 14.
Information you choose to publish through the Platform, such as a consultant profile, business listing, job posting, or review, is public by design, intended to be found and read by prospective clients, and may be indexed by search engines including Google. Please do not include information in these public fields that you do not want to be publicly visible.
The Platform is not directed at, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from, anyone under the age of 18. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child without appropriate consent, we will take steps to delete it.
Some of our service providers, such as our payment partner and cloud-based tools, may process or store information outside Uganda. Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure the provider offers an appropriate level of protection for your information, consistent with the Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the Platform or our legal obligations. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page when we do, and where a change is material, we will make reasonable efforts to notify registered users by email.

You can delete your account at any time. Sign in, open Account and choose Delete my account, or go straight to the page below. Your profile, saved experts and remaining credit are removed; past bookings and receipts are kept for our records without your name. You cannot delete the account while you have upcoming confirmed sessions.
